This patent infringement case was tried to a jury after the Court had ordered separate trials on the issues of liability and damages. On May 8, 1992, at the conclusion of the first phase of the trial, the jury returned with a verdict, finding the defendant Conlux USA Corporation ("Conlux") had infringed the plaintiff Mars Incorporated's ("Mars") patent and that the patent was not invalid or unenforceable.
