The State indicted defendant, V.S., for criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, pars. 12-13(a)(3), 12-16(b)). Defendant brought a motion to suppress his statements, alleging that the investigators had not read him the Miranda warnings prior to their interview with him.
