OPINION

ORME, Judge:

Defendant Thomas Callahan appeals his conviction for aggravated assault, a third degree felony, in violation of Utah Code Ann. § 76-5-103 (1990). Defendant's principal contention is that he was denied the effective assistance of counsel.1 We affirm his conviction.
