In order to obtain the right-of-way for a street improvement project, the City of Lewiston filed an eminent domain action to acquire real property owned by Margaret E. Lindsey. Lindsey counterclaimed alleging causes of action for negligence, inverse condemnation and breach of promise. With respect to the City's condemnation action, the parties later agreed that Lindsey be compensated $18,000 for the condemned property, and the trial proceeded...
