In March 1991, Curtis A. Wilson pleaded guilty to violating 21 U.S.C. § 841(d)(1) by possessing methylamine, a chemical listed in 21 U.S.C. § 802(34), with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, a controlled substance. The district court used U.S.S.G. § 2D1.1 in calculating Wilson's sentencing guidelines range of 135-168 months, and sentenced him to 120 months in prison (the statutory maximum) and four years of supervised release.
