James Gale Tyler was indicted with aggravated rape (where the victim is under the age of twelve), a violation of La.R.S. 14:42(A)(4). He pled not guilty and, after trial by jury, was convicted as charged. The court sentenced him to serve a term of life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
