Frances Leal, appellant, filed suit against Verna Appling to recover damages arising out of an automobile accident between Leal and Appling. Leal also sued her own insurance carrier, Northwestern National County Mutual Insurance Company ("Northwestern"), appellee, to recover underinsured-motorist benefits.
