After a jury trial, defendant, Thomas Glasco, was convicted of attempted murder (Ill. Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 38, pars. 8-4, 9-1(a)), home invasion (Ill.Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 38, par. 12-11), armed violence (Ill.Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 38, par. 33A-2), and aggravated battery (Ill.Rev. Stat.1985, ch. 38, par. 12-4). He was sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment for the attempted murder and home invasion.
