James I. "Skipper" Lark, Jr. appeals his convictions and sentences for first degree murder of Carole Lark and second degree murder of Wesley Butler. The state obtained two indictments charging murder in the first degree, and at trial sought the death penalty on each charge. As to the charge of killing Mr. Butler, the jury convicted Lark of second degree murder. On the Carole Lark charge the jury recommended mercy, and the trial judge imposed a life sentence...
