KENNEDY, Justice.

Appellant Fernando A. Villarreal, Jr. appeals from his conviction of carrying an illegal knife on school grounds. He originally pleaded guilty to the offense and received five years' deferred adjudication probation. Less than a month later, the State moved to adjudicate Villarreal's guilt.
