This is a companion case to Peoples Natural Gas Co. v. City of Everly, 497 N.W.2d 872 (Iowa 1993), which we file today. Because the two cases are so similar it is unnecessary to detail the facts involved in this appeal. After expiration of a longtime gas franchise by Peoples Natural Gas Company (Peoples), the citizens of Hartley, Iowa, also elected to pursue condemnation pursuant to Iowa Code sections 472...
