On June 11, 1986, an explosion occurred at Caelus Devices, Inc. ("CDI"), a munitions contractor for the United States. Appellant Isabel Yanez, a CDI employee, suffered third degree burns and lost her left lower arm. On February 6, 1987, Yanez filed suit in California Superior Court against Broco, Inc., J.S.
