After a jury trial defendant, Freddie Brown, was found guilty of first-degree murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 9-1(a)(1)) and two counts of attempted first-degree murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, Par. 8-4(a)). Defendant was sentenced to 50 years in the Department of Corrections on the murder conviction and 20 years in the Department of Corrections on each of the attempted murder convictions.
