On January 25, 1990, Timothy Lucero slipped and fell on the icy stairs outside Heritage Hall on the campus of Lutheran University Association, Inc., (doing business as Valparaiso University, hereinafter referred to as the "University"). Lucero sued the University, and a jury rendered a verdict for Lucero in the amount of $240,000.00.1 The University filed a Motion to Correct Error...
