Both parties appeal from the district court's disposition of this action by a retired postal employee claiming race and gender discrimination in the denial of her application for a promotion. After a bench trial, the district court held that the plaintiff had produced no proof of discrimination on the basis of sex and that her proof of race discrimination failed to show by a preponderance of the evidence that she was denied the promotion...
