Following a jury trial, the defendant, Clarence Walton, was convicted of the offense of armed robbery. He was sentenced to a term of six years in the Department of Corrections. On appeal, the defendant argues that he was deprived of a fair trial when the prosecutor, during closing argument, commented that he had a motive to lie because he had been accused of a crime.
