The appellant, Terry Short, was an employee of Medevac Mid-America (Medevac). Short was working as a medic in an ambulance owned by Medevac when the accident bringing forth this case arose. At the time of the accident the ambulance was driven by a co-worker Andrea Robinson with Medevac's permission.
