OPINION

KOCH, Judge.

This appeal involves a dispute over a nonmarital child's surname. Several weeks after the child's birth, the father filed a petition in the Rutherford County Juvenile Court seeking to legitimate his son and to give him his surname. The mother, who had already given the boy her surname, opposed changing her son's surname....
