On June 8, 1988, at approximately 11:45 p.m., an accident occurred among eleven (11) vehicles eastbound on Interstate 40 near the 162 mile marker east of North Little Rock in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The accident occurred when the vehicles involved encountered an area of heavy smoke which covered the highway and completely obstructed vision.
