BACKGROUND

On February 9, 1982, defendant and his brother, Andrew Wilson, were involved in the fatal shootings of Chicago Police Officers William Fahey and Richard O'Brien and the taking of their service revolvers. In 1983, defendant and his brother were each convicted of two counts of murder for the deaths of the two officers and two counts of armed robbery for the taking of their service revolvers...
