CORNYN, Justice.

We granted the writ of error in this case to decide whether the Presbyterian Children's Home and Service Agency ("the Agency") is a religious corporation exempted from the general prohibition of discriminatory hiring practices contained in the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act ("the Act").1 Tex.Rev.Civ.Stat. art. 5221k § 5.01 (Vernon 1987)
