In these cases, the defendants attempted to invoke the doctrine of forum non conveniens. In one action, the circuit court granted a motion to decline jurisdiction; in the other, such a motion was denied. On appeal, the Court of Appeals treated the doctrine as inapplicable on the ground that the corporate defendants are residents of Michigan.
