Defendant was found guilty of unlawful possession of cannabis in a State penal institution in violation of section 31A-1.1(b) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 31A-1.1(b)). Defendant was sentenced to a six-year prison term to run consecutive to the sentence he had been serving at the time of the instant offense.
