CARROLL, Chief Justice.

The district court, sitting as the juvenile court,1 found that E.Q. engaged in delinquent conduct and committed him to the Texas Youth Commission for a determinate sentence of fifteen years. We find that the trial court erred in denying E.Q.'s motion for new trial, as his pleas of "true" were not freely and voluntarily given.
