We find no merit to the defendant's contention that he was denied due process of law because he was excluded from the Sandoval conference held in the court's chambers. At the conclusion of the Mapp hearing, the court continued the defendant on bail, but advised him that the trial would commence the following day and that he would be tried in absentia if he failed to return...
