Defendant, Paul DiGuida, was convicted of criminal trespass to real property (Ill. Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 21-3(a)) after refusing to leave the premises of a grocery store where he had been soliciting signatures for a political petition. Defendant appealed his conviction, and the appellate court reversed (215 Ill.App.3d 913, 159 Ill.Dec. 457
