Defendant Kostas Lagoudakis operates the Paradise Family Restaurant in Coldwater. In November, 1987, he hired plaintiff Dorene Sanchez as a waitress. Shortly thereafter, a rumor circulated that Sanchez had acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, AIDS. It appears that some patrons refused to allow Sanchez to wait on them.
