The issue in this appeal is whether the legislature intended the estate of a person for whom the county incurred expenses at a mental care facility can have an obligation to pay for that care that is in excess of the obligation that was imposed on the deceased person during his or her lifetime. We find the legislature intended that an estate could have an obligation in excess of the obligation the decedent had in his or her lifetime. We affirm the...
