The defendant, Lawrence Pansy, was convicted of aggravated rape in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:42 and sentenced to life imprisonment without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. On appeal he alleges that the evidence at trial was insufficient to support a verdict of guilty to the crime of aggravated rape, and at most, the evidence supports only a verdict of guilty to the lesser offense of forcible rape.
