This civil case involves the Unlawful Debt Collection Practices Act (UDCPA), ORS 646.639, and the federal Truth In Lending Act (TILA), 15 U.S.C. § 1601 et seq. Plaintiff, a lawyer, brought this action against his former client to collect fees for services rendered. Defendant counterclaimed, contending (among other things) that plaintiff had violated UDCPA and TILA. The trial court dismissed those counterclaims for failure to state a claim...
