Justice JOHNSON delivered the opinion of the court:

Dean Lent, defendant, appeals from an order of the circuit court of Cook County denying his motion for a continuance. On appeal, the issues are whether the trial court (1) abused its discretion when it denied defendant's motion for a continuance and (2) erred when it refused defendant's proposed non-pattern jury instruction.

We affirm.
