David Crawford appeals from the judgment of the superior court denying his request for relief from custody under OCGA § 17-7-131. The record shows in 1986 Crawford was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity and was remanded to the custody of the State Department of Human Resources. In April of 1991, Crawford moved to be released from custody, but after an evidentiary hearing in which the testimony from the mental health professionals...
