Without explanation, appellant, Michael Anthony Lewis, never returned from the luncheon recess during his one-day trial in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City (Angeletti, J.) on charges of attempted breaking and entering, malicious destruction of property, and resisting arrest. In his absence, the jury found him guilty of all charges; he was sentenced to six months incarceration and a $500 fine for attempted breaking and entering, sixty days consecutive...
