Abdullah Shabazz sued Jean Payne for conversion of personal property. Payne counterclaimed and alleged that Shabazz had converted personal property belonging to her. Payne also sought punitive damages and attorney's fees, alleging that Shabazz's suit was brought for harassment purposes. Both parties appeared pro se.
