WIEAND, Judge:

On or about May 2, 1989, Janie Kelly caused her mother, Tamar Gist, to be admitted to the Care Pavilion, a nursing home in Philadelphia. Mrs. Gist remained at Care Pavilion until her death on July 27, 1989. Alleging that Care Pavilion had provided inadequate care and had failed to respond to her mother's medical needs, Kelly commenced wrongful death and survival actions as administratrix of her deceased mother's estate and made a claim in her own right...
