After a jury trial defendant was convicted of aggravated battery and aggravated assault (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, pars. 12-4(b)(7), 12-2(a)(1)), stemming from an incident that occurred at his home on November 10, 1990. He was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections for aggravated battery and 364 days for aggravated assault, to run concurrently.
