Defendant, Rene Pantoja, was convicted of criminal damage to property in violation of section 21-1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 21-1(1)(a)). He was sentenced to six months' imprisonment in the Kane County jail and 30 months' probation and ordered to pay restitution.
