Defendants, Eddie and Patricia Cox (husband and wife), were charged by bill of information with burglary of an inhabited dwelling, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:62.2. Eddie and Patricia Cox pled guilty to simple burglary, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:62, pursuant to a plea agreement. Eddie was sentenced to nine years at hard labor and Patricia was sentenced to six years at hard labor. They both appeal their respective sentences as unconstitutionally excessive...
