CONNOR, J.

Defendant pleaded nolo contendere to one count of assault with intent to murder, MCL 750.83; MSA 28.278, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, MCL 750.227b; MSA 28.424(2). The trial court imposed a sentence of one to ten years for the assault conviction and noted that the mandatory two years imposed for the felony-firearm conviction would run consecutively pursuant to statute.
