The defendant, Willie Wheat, was charged by bill of information with sexual battery, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:43.1. He pled not guilty to the charge. Subsequently, the defendant withdrew his initial plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty as charged. The trial court sentenced him to five years at hard labor with credit for time served. The defendant has appealed, alleging as his sole assignment of error that the trial court erred in imposing...
