The defendant, Willie Wheat, was charged by bill of information with sexual battery, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:43.1. He pled not guilty to the charge. Subsequently, the defendant withdrew his initial plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty as charged. The trial court sentenced him to five years at hard labor with credit for time served.
