In August 1990, defendant, Jason Forrest, entered a guilty plea to the offense of burglary (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 19-1(a)) and theft (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 16-1). He was sentenced to concurrent terms of seven years for the burglary conviction and five years for the theft conviction.
