AMUNDSON, Justice.

Andre' Whitney ("Whitney") appeals from his judgment of conviction for child abuse, which was based on his plea of guilty but mentally ill. The issue on appeal is whether the trial court erred in accepting Whitney's plea of guilty but mentally ill. We reverse and remand for further proceedings.
