On July 8, 1991, the Juvenile Court of Chatham County entered an order terminating the parental rights of C. M.'s father and mother. Thereafter, on July 17, 1991, the father filed a "motion for new trial" on the grounds that the order was "contrary to law" and "strongly against the weight of the evidence."
