Defendant, Landon Sprawls, was charged with murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1983, ch. 38, par. 9-1), armed robbery (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 18-2), and unlawful restraint (Ill.Rev.Stat.1983, ch. 38, par. 10-3). Defendant was found guilty on all counts and sentenced to a term of natural life for murder; a 60-year extended term for armed robbery and 3 years imprisonment for unlawful restraint.
