After a jury trial, defendant was convicted of theft over $300, a Class 3 felony. (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 38, pars. 16-1(a), (b)(4).) On March 29, 1991, the court sentenced defendant to 24 months of probation and a 60-day term of periodic imprisonment. The State later filed a petition and supplemental petition to revoke probation.
