Donald Thane King was upset that Ed Branch was dating King's half sister. On November 20, 1990, finding Branch at his half sister's home, King jumped on him, repeatedly stabbed him in the chest with a kitchen knife, and continued to kick him in the ribs and head while being pulled off.
