A jury found defendant Bernell Hampton guilty of aggravated criminal sexual assault against the victim, A.A. The circuit court sentenced defendant to 25 years imprisonment. Defendant appeals his conviction and sentence arguing that the circuit court improperly handled his Batson motion and that he is entitled to a hearing on whether or not new counsel should be appointed...
