This is a tort action brought by the plaintiff, Deann Seymour, against the defendant, Lynne Carcia, for personal injuries suffered by the plaintiff as a result of the alleged negligent operation of an automobile by the defendant. After a trial, the jury returned a verdict in the amount of $176,081 in favor of the plaintiff. Thereafter, the defendant moved to set aside the verdict, claiming that it was excessive, contrary to law and against the evidence....
