A jury in the district court for Douglas County convicted Donna J. Johnson of first degree assault, see Neb.Rev.Stat. § 28-308 (Reissue 1989), and using a knife to commit a felony, see Neb.Rev.Stat. § 28-1205 (Reissue 1989).
