After a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant, William Cannon, was found guilty of armed robbery (Ill.Rev. Stat.1985, ch. 38, par. 18-2), and acquitted of the home invasion charge (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 12-11). Defendant's pro se motion for a new trial was denied. A motion for a new trial filed by defendant's attorney was also denied. The trial court granted codefendant's severance...
